Maintenance Engineer

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Operate and maintain electrical systems, mechanical equipment such as ammoniacentral plant refrigeration, steam boilers and air condition systems

Update log sheets with temperatures and pressures, oil levels, vessels, banana rooms temperatures, and warehouse temperatures

Work with outside vendors and the Denver Fire Department as needed

Working environment may be wet, cold, freezing and/or may have sudden temperature changes
Requirements of this position include, but are not limited to:
-
Understanding of HVAC and Ammonia/Refrigeration

Experience in mechanical systems

Possess excellent computer skills including proficiency with Frick controls and basic DDC

Working knowledge of PSM, RMP and knowledge of EPA and OSHA requirements

Understand defrost/hot gas by-pass

Familiar with air handlers and condensers

Know and understand refrigeration systems

Understand VFD’s, fire systems, computers, control valves, switches, piping controls

Able to work all shifts including holidays and weekends

Able to lift over 50 pounds and able to push, pull, stoop, reach stand and walk during most of the shift

Own your own hand tools and have knowledge of power tools

High school diploma or trade school equivalent required

Four years of refrigeration experience preferred

Able to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints

Possess or obtain Denver County Stationary Engineer’s license within 90 days or hire
Hourly rate for this position ranges from $37.00 to $38.72 per hour. Rate will vary based on circumstances, including experience, qualifications, location and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Dependent on length of service and hours worked, benefits include, healthcare, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401k eligibility).
